Since Elizabethtown College has moved online, most students have moved back home. However, some students in extenuating circumstances were approved to stay on campus until they move off campus.

Initially, when the College was expecting to return April 6, these numbers included students who had internships and fieldwork placements, and there were around 80 students on campus in total. Following Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf’s announcement that non-life sustaining businesses needed to close, most of those students were made to leave. Currently, there are just under 20 students who remain on campus.

The Office of Community Living has been regularly communicating with these students, having daily Zoom check-ins with the students to make sure they are doing well and to give them a chance to ask questions and express any concerns they have.

The Jay’s Nest has remained open to provide the students with food. Students were given additional Jay Bucks as a replacement for their previous meal plan. In order to prevent the possible spread of COVID-19, students are required to call in their order at the Jay’s Nest and to pick it up from outside of the Nest.
