Etown holds first Accepted Student Day event of the semester

Elizabethtown College hosted its first Accepted Student Day (ASD) event for the semester on Saturday, Feb. 12. 157 accepted students were in attendance, which is an increase from the first ASD event last year.

Throughout the day, families could make their deposits, making the decision for the students to come to Etown next semester official. 14 students deposited on ASD while additional families said that they planned to deposit shortly after.

ASD events are often the last time prospective students and their families can visit campus and talk with current students and professors, so it is important that they have a great experience. Many offices, such as Community Living and Study Abroad, as well as numerous clubs and organizations on campus had tables set up for prospective students to learn more about what Etown has to offer.

“Every family I chatted with had great things to say about each session and the attentiveness of our staff. It really takes the entire college to pull off an event such as ASD,” Assistant Director of Admissions Monica Venturella said.

Venturella also praised Senior Associate Director of Admissions Polly Orenstein and Admissions Administrator Amy Benowitz for their planning and coordination with other departments for the event.

She explained that after each event, the Office of Admissions staff have a meeting to discuss what went well and what can be improved upon. She emphasized that they are always looking for new ideas to make each event better than the previous.
