Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs faced off in Super Bowl LV. The Super Bowl was a showdown between the two best teams in their respective conferences. This was a game to be remembered.

To begin, in the first quarter, Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker drove a 49 yard field goal for three points. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes missed a deep pass to receiver Tyreek Hill, which caused the Chiefs to kick the ball on their first two possessions.

Then, Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady had his first touchdown pass to receiver Rob Gronkowski with 37 seconds left in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Brady threw another touchdown pass to Gronkowski, which gave the Buccaneers a 14-3 lead over the Chiefs. This pass broke the record for most playoff touchdown passes for a duo. This touchdown came after almost being intercepted.

After that, Butker kicked a 34 yard field goal to give the Chiefs a score of six.

At halftime, after yet another touchdown by the Buccaneers, the score was 21-6 at halftime.

In the third quarter, the Chiefs got another field goal, making the score 21-9. That was the last time the Chiefs scored. At this point in time, Mahomes was 0/6 with passes.

Also in the second quarter, running back Leonard Fournette ran 27 yards and scored a touchdown making the score 28-9. At the end of the third quarter, kicker Ryan Succop extended the lead for the Buccaneers making the score 31-9.

In the fourth quarter, neither team scored any points.

This Super Bowl was one to remember. First of all, this was Tom Brady’s seventh Super Bowl win. Brady appeared in 10 Super Bowls total, but he only won seven out of the 10 games. There was also the first female referee in the NFL, named Sarah Thomas. A fan also somehow got onto the field and started running around on it, only to be tackled by Super Bowl officials after about 30 seconds of him being on the field.
