In 1962, there was a hall of fame inductee into the Ira R. Hall of Fame. This inductee was named John Neely. He was made an all star several times, and he was one of the star basketball players of the 1962-63 season.

He also led the Elizabethtown College men’s basketball team to a win on May Day, a sporting event in 1962 that took place on Constitution Day.
