Athlete of the Week: Adam Wolfe

Athlete of the Week: Adam Wolfe

Adam Wolfe is a senior captain on the men’s cross country team at Elizabethtown College.

Wolfe credits his participation in cross country to his family. His mother sprinted in high school and his uncle especially influenced him because he ran for Shippensburg University and became an All American at the university.

“[My uncle] and I were very close growing up, so I pretty much wanted to be like him,” Wolfe said. “In sixth grade I got invited to the middle school cross country practice since you can only start officially running in seventh grade…I really liked being able to go out and blow off some energy because I didn’t have many outlets to do that.”

In seventh grade Wolfe officially began running for the team and ever since he has run cross country and track every year. Wolfe was recruited by Coach Falk to run at Etown and he did an overnight visit with some of the former players who were on the team at the time.

Since he is a senior, going forward Wolfe plans to take a short break from running to rest his body and heal. However, he does not plan to stop running and wants to begin running marathons.
