Get ready for Elizabethtown College Homecoming and Family Weekend 2025

Get ready for Elizabethtown College Homecoming and Family Weekend 2025

Mark your calendars for Etown’s annual Homecoming and Family Weekend! Etown will be celebrating students, families, alumni, faculty and friends from Oct. 3 to Oct. 5 with fan favorite activities such as the parade and the High Libraries escape room. This year also marks the 50 year anniversary for the Occupational Therapy and Music Therapy programs at Etown.

Taking enrollments in the 1975-1976 academic year, Etown’s Occupational Therapy program is the second oldest OT program in Pennsylvania. This program functions as a three plus two, meaning students would take three years on their undergraduate degree in a Bachelors of Science in Health Science and then two years getting their Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy.

While festivities have been in action already throughout the 2025-2026 academic year, there will be an official 50-year anniversary celebration for the OT program on Oct. 4 at 3 p.m. in the Susquehanna Room. Remarks will be given at 3:45 p.m. and an alumni group photo is on the schedule for 4 p.m.

OT is not the only program with a big anniversary. Etown’s Music Therapy program, which is one of the most well-established programs in the state, is also celebrating its 50th year of enrollment.

The Music Therapy program will be celebrating all weekend long starting with Clinical Conversations with Alumni on Oct. 3 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Leffler Chapel and Performance Center. Other events include The Beat Goes On: Drum Circle, Harmonizing the Community and the 50-year Anniversary Celebration which are scheduled to occur on Oct. 4.

Other exciting events are taking over Etown for Homecoming and Family Weekend such as the High Library’s 35-Year Anniversary Celebration Exhibition and “Back to the Present” escape room. The High Library will have photos and artifacts from the building’s construction on display.

“Back to the Present” is this year’s escape room where participants are lab assistants to Dr. Hank G. Wells who sent your group of participants back in time to retrieve his car keys from 1950. The twist? You will have to find your own way back to the present within an hour or you will be trapped in the past. The High Library’s escape room is free, but registration is required. Those interested can register at https://etown.libcal.com/calendar/escaperoom?cid=9814&t=d&d=0000-00-00&cal=9814&inc=0

A few more annual events will be making their return during the 2025 homecoming weekend. Etown’s many clubs will face off for the 30th Annual Homecoming Parade. Clubs will be assembling floats on Oct. 3 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Elizabethtown Fairgrounds. The parade will take place on Oct. 4 kicking off at 11 a.m. For those who can’t attend in person, a live stream will be available from ECTV-40. This will also be available after the parade. This is just a small sample of the events scheduled for the 2025 Homecoming and Family Weekend. Events are happening all across campus, so check out the schedule and have a happy homecoming Blue Jays.
