Which of these captivating artworks represents your zodiac sign?

Despite my best attempts, Jays, I am simply not an artist. Unfortunately, my visually creative skills never advanced past the kindergarten level. If I am being completely honest, I still struggle with coloring in the lines. Nonetheless, you don’t have to be an artist to appreciate the artwork from the past several centuries or so. For this week’s edition of the Horoscopes, let’s find out what famous painting you are based on your zodiac sign. Look at your sun, moon and rising sign if you’re interested in creating a gallery wall in your room!

Aries-  You are “Composition with Red Blue and Yellow” by Piet Mondrion which he painted in 1930. The Dutch artist composed the painting in the Neo-Plasticism style, a more modern way of painting. It is currently held at Kunsthaus Zürich in Zurich, Switzerland. 

Taurus- You are “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” by Hokuski which he painted in 1831.  Many prints were made of the work, but only around 100 copies have survived over the years. You can see a copy at the Tokyo National Museum in Tokyo, Japan, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, New York and other galleries around the world. 

Gemini-  You are “Nighthawks” by Edward Hopper which he painted in 1942. It is rumored that Hopper was inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s short story, “The Killers” when he painted this. It is currently held in The Art Institute of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. 

Cancer- You are “Starry Night” by Vincent Van Gogh which he painted in 1889. He also painted other views of “Starry Night,” including “Starry Night Over the Rhône.” “Starry Night” is currently held in The Museum of Modern Art in New York City, New York.

Leo- You are “Paris Street; Rainy Day” by Gustave Calliebotte which he painted in 1877. The setting of the painting is the Palace du Dublin in northern Paris. It  is currently held at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. 

Virgo- You are “American Gothic” by Grant Wood which he painted in 1930. The painting was inspired by the Iowa countryside and features a father and daughter, not husband and wife as it commonly perceived as.The painting is currently held in The Art Institute of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. 


Libra- You are “Water Lilies” by Claude Monet. With over 250 paintings in the set, you can find a lot of the prints in many famous museums including The Art Institute of Chicago, Musee D’Orsay and the Denver Art Museum. 

Scorpio- You are “Mona Lisa” by Leonardo Da Vinci which he painted in 1503-1506. Not much is known about the subject of the painting. There is a Mandela Effect where the woman is remembered as frowning, but her expression is a smirk. The painting  is currently held in the Louvre Museum in Paris, France.

Sagittarius- You are the “The Astronomer” by Johannes Vermeer which he painted in 1668. Vermeer painted this during the height of the Dutch’s science fascination. The painting  is currently held in the Louvre Museum in Paris, France. 

Capricorn- You are “The Persistence of Memory” by Salvador Dahli which he painted in 1931. This surrealist work is most known for the dripping clock. The painting is currently held in The Museum of Modern Art in New York City, New York.


Aquarius- You are “Sunflowers” by Vincent Van Gogh which he painted in 1888. Van Gogh painted this work and its companion piece during his mysterious stay with his brother, Theo. The painting  is currently held at the National Gallery in London, England. 

Pisces- You are “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte” by Georges Seurat which he painted in 1884-1886. Despite the title, the people at the park are looking over the River Seine in Paris, France. The painting  is currently held in The Art Institute of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois.
