Hello there! I welcome you all back to another semester of horoscopes at the Etownian, whether you’re a starchild or a skeptic. This first horoscope is a sort of special one, since this issue is closest to Valentine’s Day. That means for once the horoscopes can be written in the most stereotypical manner — about compatibility and what the planet Venus can do for you. Without further ado, let me tell you what the stars have to say about your chances on this Valentine’s Day. 

Aries— 

So, you might want to be careful about the way you’re expressing yourself this Valentine’s Day. Mercury, the planet in control of communication, is in retrograde. You’ve dealt with that before, yes, but it’s coming into alignment with Venus and Jupiter. That’s a recipe for being terribly unlucky in love if you say the wrong thing. Just think before you speak, Aries, and you can still turn this into something wonderful. 

Taurus— 

Romantic Venus, powerful Jupiter and a chatty retrograde Mercury walk into a bar. Just kidding, they walk into your tenth house of reputation. This is a Valentine’s Day to feel empowered. You’ve got a lot to offer, so go ahead and show it off a little. With a Mercury retrograde though, I would recommend showing and not telling. 

Gemini— 

The ninth house is one for travel, and with Venus settled in there so close to a holiday about romance, you might be feeling the need for a getaway. Unfortunately, that’s less than safe this year. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t pretend. Make some fresh recipes from your favorite culture or your dream vacation spot and enjoy it in soft lighting with appropriate music on in the background. 

Cancer—  

You feel a lot, Cancer, and you also feel things very deeply. Well, this Valentine’s Day you’re in for some very intense feelings. Venus, planet of love, is in your eighth house of mystery and sensuality. Mercury in retrograde may try and cross your signals, but if you know what you want you should go for it. 

Leo— 

This Valentine’s Day Venus and Jupiter are in your seventh house — the relationship house! You might not think of yourself as very good in relationships, but between the planet of love and the planet of luck, you’ve got some powerful allies on your side. In a relationship? Do something special for your significant other. Single? Now is a great time to make a move if you’ve got your eye on someone. 

Virgo— 

If you have any romantic plans this Valentine’s Day, make sure you are paying close attention to any subtle hints your partner is dropping. You care for the people in your life deeply, but sometimes they would like to hear you say it. It’s reassuring to have things verbalized every once in a while. 

Libra— 

With the New Moon having dawned in your fifth house on Thursday you might be feeling extra romantic, Libra. The New Moon is a time to try new things, whether that looks like going on a blind date, going to a new place with your current paramour or something a little saucier. You’ve got a little cosmic boost for the time being, and you should take advantage of it. 

Scorpio— 

This Valentine’s Day is going to be a bit tricker for you than ones in the past, Scorpio. It’s coming at the end of a long week, and you’re probably feeling a bit off. If Valentine’s d Day isn’t the romantic wonderland you want it to be, don’t sweat it. You’ve got a lot of fire to you, and you can make any day as special. 

Sagittarius— 

This Mercury retrograde can’t get you down, Sagittarius. Jupiter and Venus are partnering up in your communication sector to more than combat any funk brought into your life by backwards Mercury. Trust in your words to serve you well in all endeavors, Sagittarius. 

Capricorn— 

Not to be rude, Capricorn, but sometimes you spend money a little too easily. Be extra careful at the end of this week, as the New Moon pairs Venus with Jupiter in your financial sector. You may be feeling an extra pull towards the beautiful things in life, but make sure your bank account can handle any luxuries you decide upon. You deserve it, yes, but don’t overdo it. 

Aquarius— 

I’ve got great news, Aquarius. For the first time in over a decade Jupiter and Venus are hanging out together in your sector of the sky. In your own time of year no less! It’s an Aquarius energy party, and you should make the most of it while it is happening. For Valentine’s Day weekend maybe that’s something romantic, but you’ve got this power for longer than that. If you’ve been putting off any big projects, now is a good time for them. 

Pisces— 

While it may not be quite what you want to hear, this Valentine’s Day the stars are aligned much better for self love than love of others. Venus is in your twelfth house of internality, and that means your love energy will go extra far when directed inwards. That isn’t to say that you can’t have a beautiful romantic entanglement this weekend, but you should also take extra time for yourself.
