Tuesday, Oct. 8, the Elizabethtown College women’s volleyball team competed against Stevenson University and took a 3-0 loss.
Halfway through the first set, the Blue Jays were down 13-12, and Stevenson was able to keep their lead the rest of the way through the set. This gave them the first set win and put them 1-0 early in the game. In the first two sets, the Blue Jays finished with 14 points, because of Stevenson’s strong plays.
The third set was a little better for the Blue Jays. They fell in the first half with Stevenson up to 23 points. Etown played hard and was able to close the point gap. This was no match for Stevenson, though, and the third set ended in a Stevenson win 25-23.
First-year Bryanna Miller led the team with a team-high eight kills, and sophomore Rileigh Hudock had a team-high eight digs and walked away with two aces.

In the second set, PSH came in with the lead 17-11 about halfway through. With a series of points scored by the Blue Jays led by a kill by sophomore Shelly Yohe, they were able to match PSH and surpass their opponent to take the second set win.
The final score in this set was 25-22. The third set was also close with the Blue Jays taking the last win 25-21.
Miller led in kills with 13. First-year Sarah Hanks had 19 assists. Hudock and junior Aiyana Tietze-DiToro reached double digits for digs with 12 and 19 respectively.
