Leading up to the second True Blue event where the Elizabethtown College women’s volleyball team will play against the Catholic University of America, the Blue Jays have been practicing hard and playing strong.

The team currently has an overall record of 20-7 and hopes to gain another win in this game against Catholic. Along with this being a True Blue event, the game is also one of the team’s Landmark Conference games, so it’s going to be a big day for the Blue Jays. So far in the conference, Etown stands at 1-1 with previous games against Moravian College and Susquehanna University.

At lot has happened in games of the past week for the Blue Jays and it has shaped how the team is looking toward the True Blue game.

Senior Elle Shatto became the eighth Blue Jay in Etown history to achieve 1,000 kills and currently has 1,012 kills. The fans can expect to see her add to her record during the game.

The team is coming off a three-game winning streak and earlier in the season had a streak of 14. The True Blue game taking place at home gives the Blue Jays a home-court advantage, which is beneficial considering that their at home record for the season is 5-3.

With this being a True Blue event, fans can expect another great giveaway from the office of Student Activities, Wellness and Recreation and the Athletic Department.

Following the True Blue event, the Blue Jays will be back on the road against Messiah College, and their next Landmark game will be against Juniata College Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m.
