The College store takes on the Bowers Center apparel pieces

Over last summer, with the idea of promoting and releasing their own athletic apparel, the team at the Elizabethtown College Bowers Center for Sports, Fitness and Well-being decided to start working on a new line of merchandise for students and employees to wear. From hoodies and sweatpants to crewneck sweatshirts and leggings, the new apparel combines the Bowers Center logo with some of the classic Etown colors, as well as some newly-implemented pride designs.

“Usually, students go into the Bowers and see the same merch every single day, so we wanted to mix things up and bring some new apparel to the forefront,” Director of the Bowers Center Whitney Crull said. “While trying to switch things around we ended up partnering with the College store, so that they would sell some of our apparel and we would sell some of their athletic merch as well.”

Merchandise Manager of the College store Wendy Gibble said that the new Bowers Center apparel has been available for sale since Jan. 25. “Selling wise, things can sometimes be a bit slow at Bowers,” Gibble said. “So promoting the newly released merch has been a top priority of the College store since its release at the end of January.”

When asked about the design and production of the new apparel, Crull mentioned the College’s ongoing relationship with Rockhound Apparel, a company from Robesonia, Pa. “We have worked with them before for some of our staff uniforms, and students really seem to like their material,”Crull said. “Our new line of sports apparel was done in conjunction with them. They’ve been really great at helping us design the apparel, what works well, what looks good.”

The entire team at the Bowers Center mentioned how they would be happy to receive feedback about the new apparel, and any suggestions on what students are looking for in their recreation and athletic wear.
