The Elizabethtown College men’s tennis team currently has an overall record of 2-2, taking wins in matches against Lycoming College and Penn College. Their two losses were against DeSales University and Penn State Harrisburg.
The team started 2-0 for the first time since 2012.
Overall, in their first two matches, the Blue Jays won five out of their six double matches with two wins coming from first-year Colby Martin and junior Tyler Spinello. Martin also had a perfect 1-0 in his singles. Going 2-0 in their singles matches were junior Alec Scheneider and first-years Evan Winters and Justin Brown.
The women’s team is currently at an overall 3-1 record to start their season. This is the third straight season that the women’s tennis team opened their season 2-0. The Blue Jays took four out of the five doubles matches. Juniors Sarah Donner and Lenea Riehl, along with first-years Maddy Binder, Kailey Caroland and Courtnee Hoff, went 2-0 in the singles matches.
Both the men and women will compete at York College of Pennsylvania Sunday, Sept. 29, with the first serve for the women being at 12 p.m. and the men at 1 p.m.
