Rocky Balboa

Rocky Balboa

In 1975, the heavyweight champion of the world, Apollo Creed, announces that he is hosting a fight to defend his title in Philadelphia, Pa. A few weeks before his flight, Creed is informed that his opponent cannot compete due to an injured hand. Creed decides not to cancel the fight, but instead, give a local guy a shot at taking the title.

Creed’s new opponent Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) is an Italian American boxer who fights in smaller gyms and works for a small loan shark in Philadelphia. Rocky, while a little hesitant at first, agrees to the fight. He is trained by a professional boxing coach, and goes under intensive training for several weeks.

The night before the fight however, Rocky gets cold feet, but still decides to go through with the fight in the end.

On New Year’s Day, Creed enters the ring dressed as George Washington, and then changes costumes to look like Uncle Sam. In the first round, Rocky knocks Creed out. The fight then continues for another 14 eight-minute rounds. Who wins? You will have to watch the movie to find out.
