Recently, the National Basketball Association (NBA) had to postpone some of its games due to strikes by the players. Since the shooting of NBA player Jacob Blake, there have been protests from the Milwaukee Bucks to promote police reform. Soon, the strikes spread from the Bucks to all around the NBA.

As of right now, it is unclear as to whether or not the NBA cancelled various basketball games Wednesday night out of fear that the protests would continue into other sports or not. Regardless of the reason that all gameplay was stopped, most other professional sports matches were cancelled, as well. The strikes have already spread to Major League Baseball (MLB), Major League Soccer (MLS), professional tennis and the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).

There have been meetings to start meeting the demands of the players, and NBA games are supposed to resume starting Friday, Sept. 18, 2020.
