Wednesday, April 21, the coach and manager of the Philadelphia Eagles decided not to name Jalen Hurts as starting quarterback for the 2021 season. The manager wants the athletes to compete for the title of starting quarterback, which is one of the reasons that Hurts was not named immediately. Another reason is that the coach and manager have been working with the athletes for about two days, and it was decided that it is too early to name a starting quarterback.
As of right now, there are only two quarterbacks in the roster. One of them is Hurts, and the other is veteran quarterback Joe Flacco, who was signed on a one year deal back in March. There is talk of potentially adding another quarterback during the drafts next week, beginning Thursday, April 29.
As of right now, the coaches and managers are planning on evaluating every player before, during and after the draft, because the Eagles are needing players in multiple spots including, but not limited to cornerback and receiver.
