Men’s Swimming

On Friday, Oct. 22, the Elizabethtown College men’s swim team traveled to Selinsgrove, Pa. to face off against Susquehanna College during the annual Schweikert Relays.

The Blue Jays opened their 2021-22 season at these relays, swimming in a number of different events that are not often contested. The men’s team showed its depth and talent in the breaststroke and Individual Medley events.

The team of senior Sam Lopez, sophomore Dylan Fitzgerald, senior Nathan Tobler and first-year Franky Swain found a win in the 200 back relay, swimming to a first place finish in 1:50.60.

A young crew secured an early victory for Etown, as freshman Zain Wegman, sophomore Alex Waskiewicz and first-years Steven Klinefelter and Connor Oswald earned first place in the 200 breast relay with a time of 1:55.59.

Wegman, Waskiewicz and Oswald teamed up with Lopez to touch the wall first in the men’s 4×100 Individual Medley in 3:58.47.

The final win for Etown came in the mixed 200 medley relay as first-year Joshua McQueen and Oswald joined sophomores Maddy Brelsford and Sarah Marston of the women’s team to touch the wall first in 1:50.90.

The Blue Jays have little rest for the Blue Jays as they hit the road once again, Oct. 23 to take on Goucher College and Immaculata University in Baltimore, Md. First races started at 1 p.m.
