As the picks for week 12 begin, there is one player who is ranked highly this week. Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks has been averaging 13.5 yards per reception this season and in the last six games, Cook has recorded at least 80 receiving yards. One of the reasons that Cook is ranked so highly this week is because the Detroit Lions are currently ranking in the bottom third of the NFL, and Cooks and the rest of the Texans faced off against the Lions on Thanksgiving at 12:30 p.m.
A player that is usually ranked highly is the New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas. It turns out that this week, he stumbled after hauling in nine passes for a total of 104 yards against the Atlanta Falcons. This week, he is not even ranked within the top 30 at his position. Now, Thomas is being put to the test as the Saints travel to Denver to face off against the Broncos on Sunday, Nov. 29 at 4:05 p.m.
There are some things to consider before locking in your picks for this week, though. Last week, Quarterback Joe Burrow from the Cincinnati Bengals and Running Back from the Eagles Rex Burkhead injured their knees and may not be playing this week. Running Back Lamical Perine from the Eagles injured his ankle and also may not be playing this week. Tight End Greg Olsen from the Patriots also seriously injured his foot, so he will also be sitting out. Wide receiver for the Falcons Julio Jones and Wide receiver for the Falcons JuJu Smith-Schuster are recovering from injuries and might play. There have also been a few COVID-19 cases in Baltimore and Minnesota that are currently being monitored.
