Eboo Patel, president of the Interfaith Youth Core, and Jeffery B. Miller ’85, vice president and chief security officer of the National Football League, have been chosen to speak at this year’s commencement ceremonies. Patel will speak at commencement for traditional students at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 18. Miller will speak at the ceremony for Elizabethtown College School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) students later that day at 4:00 p.m. This year will also mark Elizabethtown College’s 110th commencement.
Caroline Lalvani, director of affairs and college events, manages the commencement program each year and works to make sure that the speakers will align with the mission of the College, as well as entertain and inform the audience.
In past years, commencement speakers have included Dr. Pauline Yu, president of the American Council of Learned Societies, Dr. Michael Lomax, president of the United Negro College Fund and Mary Ellen McNish, general secretary of the American Friends Service Committee.
