On the evening of April 5, Elizabethtown College transformed into a stage of color, charisma and celebration as the Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) and the Office of Civil Rights, Opportunity, and Access hosted the annual Campus Drag Show. Held in Gibble Auditorium at 8:30 p.m., the high-energy event lived up to its promises of being an unforgettable night filled with talent, glam and joyful self-expression.
From the moment attendees walked through the doors, it was clear this would be no ordinary night on campus. Posters in the days leading up to the show encouraged students to “throw on your most colorful fit, bring the hype, and get ready to have a blast!” And students did just that, sporting sequins, glitter and stunning accessories, the audience came ready to match the energy of the queens on stage.
Hosted by two dazzling and hilarious drag queens, Betty and Lizzie, the show was a nonstop celebration of individuality and pride. Their sharp wit and effortless chemistry kept the crowd laughing and engaged between acts, while also sharing messages about the importance of inclusion, support and joy within the LGBTQ+ community.
The star-studded lineup featured the fierce and fabulous talents of Enigma, Sarabesque and Vilory Holl, each bringing their own flair to the spotlight. Whether it was through electrifying lip-sync numbers, gravity-defying dance moves or emotional ballads delivered with theatrical perfection, the queens gave the crowd exactly what they came for—high entertainment with heart.
Enigma took the stage with confidence and style, delivering bold choreography and dramatic looks that left the audience in awe. Sarabesque stunned with elegance and sass, combining intricate movements with a magnetic stage presence. Vilory Holl came in with raw power and glamour, leaving the stage—and the audience, buzzing with energy.
“I’ve never been to a drag show before, and this was honestly one of the most fun nights I’ve had on campus,” Emma Robinson, a first-year early education major said. “The queens were incredible, and you could feel how much love and support was in the room.”
Indeed, the energy in the space was electric. Students danced in their seats, waved dollar bills in the air and cheered wildly for every flip, hair whip and high note. Tips were generously given to the performers throughout the show—another sign of the appreciation and respect from the crowd.
One of the defining aspects of the night was the sheer joy that radiated from both the stage and the audience. The show wasn’t just about the costumes or the performances—it was about community. It was a space where everyone could be themselves, free of judgment and surrounded by celebration.
“Drag shows are all about fun—so let loose and enjoy the moment,” read one of the event’s advertisements. And the crowd did just that. From singing along to classic pop anthems to chanting the names of the queens, the entire event felt like a moment of collective joy.
The drag show is just one of the many events Etown hosts in celebration of Pride and in support of LGBTQ+ students and allies. Through events like this, the College continues to build a culture of inclusivity and expression.
“All my friends have been talking about this event since I couldn’t attend last year,” Chloe Smith, a sophomore criminal justice major said. “Now that I’ve experienced it, I can understand why it was talked about so much.”
As the night came to a close, with students still buzzing about their favorite acts and snapping selfies with the performers, it was evident that the Campus Drag Show was more than just a spectacle—it was a statement. A statement about joy, pride and the power of coming together in celebration of who we are.
And for everyone in attendance, one thing was certain: it was a night to remember.
