Weather Report: Summer’s still holding on

Many autumn lovers, such as myself, have been waiting for the day we get to take out our knit sweaters, order hot lattes and go to class in our sweatpants. As far as we are concerned, fall weather should be here already! Unfortunately for us, Mother Nature does not agree. Even with fall quickly approaching, you shouldn’t put your summer clothes away just yet! The warm weather seems to be holding on a bit longer this year, so it’s still nice enough to walk to a lunch spot with friends without a jacket. Sorry autumn lovers, but it’s still too early for crunchy leaves and Halloween!

This upcoming week calls for strong thunderstorms with the humidity averaging at 57% and low wind. The temperatures start in the low 70’s and gradually fall as the week progresses, the lowest reaching 63 F on Sept. 23. It will be significantly cooler during the night, staying in the low 50’s and high 40’s. The sky won’t be clear at all this week, so it may not be the best time to go out on a hike. Unlike last week, you’ll need your umbrella, as the forecast calls for an average 37% chance of precipitation. Unfortunately, Mother Nature is still scheduling these summer storms!

Hopefully the weather will clear up soon, so we can enjoy the newly arrived autumn season, as the first day of fall is on Sept. 22. Until then, this warm and rainy weather is here to stay. You should still plan to wear t-shirts and shorts but be sure to bring a raincoat!
