Hello, my adoring Crumb Crew, and welcome to a new round of 2 a.m. Snack Time!
This time, we’re expanding our look on snacks throughout the week and listing everything about them. From their flavor and texture to their clean-up and nutritional value, we got it! I’ll also make an end of the week post on the Jay’s App, where I’ll be open to any snack requests, questions, feedback and comments from everyone.
Now how about we kick off our first entry with an interesting look at a form of food that no one expects to be classified as a snack: a sugary drink. In this case, a Capri-Sun, Pacific Cooler to be exact.
Although not as filling as a traditional snack, drinks like this can give you the same sugar quenching taste as any junk food and satisfy thirst like a regular glass of water. It’s a generally spill-free drink with little mess if you are mindful of the poked-out hole in the top. With this sharp amount of fruity and sweet flavor, it is easy to see why this is possibly the most popular of the brand.
However, due to the size of the small pouches, having just one may not be enough. This could be tempting you to have more, but keep this in mind: according to the nutritional facts, each one pouch serving contains 13 grams of sugar, 15 grams of sodium and 14 grams of total carbohydrates. This means it may give you a small burst of energy and still leave you a little bit thirsty, if not amplified after a while. So, if you’re thinking of having one on a night where you need sleep, it shouldn’t be your first choice, especially if you’re a light sleeper or easily affected by sugar.
Overall score will have to be a 7/10; great drink but there’s a right and wrong time to have it.
