Students of Etown: Hannah Lewiski

This week, meet junior marketing major Hannah Lewiski from Pottstown Pa. Lewiski is currently working as a social media marketing intern for Mobile Marketing. When deciding what college she wanted to go to, it was the campus’ size, friendly atmosphere and distance from her hometown that caught Lewiski’s attention.

“I first really liked the campus, it wasn’t too big but it also didn’t feel too small and it was just far enough away from where I grew up to feel separate,” Lewiski said.

When asked why she chose marketing as her major, Lewiski revealed she wasn’t originally sure what she wanted to do.

“Marketing sounded like it might offer me a bit of the creativity I craved. My favorite thing is just learning about how the world works, and thinking about businesses differently than I did before,” Lewiski said.

The marketing major here at Elizabethtown College allows her to take many different marketing classes, such as Critical Issues in Business and Promotions Management. Marketing allows students to understand the world of business and the trends and tools they may one day work with.

“My favorite classes are anything taught by Professor Bryan Greenberg,” Lewiski said.

Lewiski isn’t entirely sure what her goals for the future are, but she is interested in the pharmaceutical marketing field. To prepare herself for her desired field, Lewiski started her internship at Mobile Marketing this summer, which has recently transitioned into a part-time position as a social media marketing intern.

Lewiski runs the social media accounts of various flooring companies through Mobile Marketing. She works with several different platforms, like Facebook and Instagram, and also is learning a lot about social media related software. Lewiski describes it as a challenging yet rewarding experience.

“They must have liked me enough because they kept me on the team as a part-time employee,” Lewiski said.

Outside of work and school, Lewiski enjoys playing recreational volleyball through the local club, Cutshot Volleyball. The club organizes tournaments so that interested players not associated with any local teams can still get together and enjoy the game.

In high school, Lewiski used to play as an outside hitter, but now she plays a lot of non-traditional volleyball, such as doubles, quads and triples, so she will play any position that is needed for the team. Volleyball is her favorite sport, but she doesn’t watch any particular teams play; she likes going out on the court herself.

“I’m not big into watching sports. I prefer to play them,” Lewiski said.

Lewiski doesn’t have any pets, except for two unnamed goldfish that live in her apartment at Hackman South, along with her three roommates. Her one roommate, junior Alexis Girard, won the fish from the 50th anniversary of the Elizabethtown Fair, which took place back in August.

She has also worked as a barista for 5 years and is currently working at the Blue Bean. Her current favorite drink order is an iced brown sugar shaken espresso with cinnamon cold foam. Consider stopping by to try it!
