This week, try making this Mac and Cheese in a Mug recipe! This easy recipe is perfect for late night study sessions, or when you’re just craving mac and cheese. Microwaveable Mac and Cheese is good, but try it in a mug instead! This recipe uses real cheese, instead of the mystery cheesy powder that comes with most boxed mac and cheese. You’ll need a microwave, a microwave safe cup, one cup of water, ½ cup of macaroni and ½ cup of any cheese of your choice. Personally, I prefer mozzarella cheese or a shredded mexican blend, but any shredded cheese will do.
When you are using the microwave, be sure to clean it out before and after you use it. Put the macaroni into your cup and pour in the water. Depending on the size of your cup, make sure not to add too much water that could overflow. Your water should completely cover the noodles. Place the cup in the microwave and cook for eight minutes, pausing at the five- and two-minute marks to stir. You may add a bit more water if needed. Cook your noodles until they are al dente. After taking out your mug, add in your preferred cheese. If it doesn’t melt all the way, pop it back into the microwave for 30-60 seconds. Now stir and enjoy!
If you would like to add anything extra to your Mac and Cheese in a Mug, you can add some herbs or vegetables. I would recommend using garlic powder, crushed red pepper flakes or broccoli. To avoid any spilling in the microwave, you can place your mug in a wide, deep bowl so you don’t flood the microwave. You could also use any other type of pasta to try something different. Enjoy this easy recipe!
