This recipe for the Brownie Ala Mode Mug Cake is sure to evoke childhood memories and satisfy your sweet tooth. This is a great recipe to put your own twist on. There are so many different sweet treats you can use to top this dessert. It only takes a few ingredients and five minutes to make, and will definitely put a smile on your face. This Brownie Ala Mode Mug Cake will become your new favorite!

First, you’ll need to make sure you have all the right ingredients and supplies. For your supplies, you’ll need a medium bowl, a whisk, a microwave-safe mug and a microwave. As for the ingredients, you should have two tablespoons of all-purpose flour, two tablespoons of cocoa powder, one tablespoon of sugar, ¼ teaspoon of baking powder, one tablespoon of creamy peanut butter, three tablespoons of water, three tablespoons of vegetable oil, ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract, two tablespoons of chocolate chips and one scoop of vanilla ice cream.

In your medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar and baking powder. Next, stir in the water, vegetable oil, peanut butter and vanilla extract until it creates a smooth batter. Then, fold in your chocolate chips. Take the batter and pour it into your microwave-safe mug. Make sure you leave a bit of space from the top to keep the batter from overflowing while it cooks. If you have more than one microwave-safe mug, try making this with friends! Since it only takes a few minutes to cook, you can take turns and enjoy sharing this recipe.

Before you put your mug in the microwave, make sure the microwave is clean. I usually like to put a microwave-safe plate or bowl underneath the mug, just to prevent any possible messes. Put your mug into the microwave, and cook on high for one to two minutes. I find it’s best to check the mug brownie after one minute, and put it in longer if it still needs to cook longer. Once it is cooked all the way through, top it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Other toppings you could put on top are chocolate syrup, mini marshmallows, sprinkles, whipped cream, extra chocolate chips, brownie crumble or cookie crumble.

Now sit back and enjoy!
