Happy Hallo-week, my moon children. With the best holiday of the year this Monday, the spooky movies are in full swing. Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween is rounding to a close, and the scary movie sections of streaming services are in their prime. With all this content, do you ever wonder which Halloween movie your sign embodies? Use your sun, moon and rising signs for the most well-rounded reading!
Aquarius- “Beetlejuice.” Eccentric, non-conformist and unexpected, the energy of this 80s classic matches yours, dear Aquarius, perfectly. Take pride in the offbeat nature of this horror-comedy and see yourself in Lydia Deetz—the two of you are “strange and unusual” in the best way.
Pisces- “Hocus Pocus.” Throwing it back to the 90s, this nostalgia-filled flick warms the heart and inner child of every Pisces out there. Make yourself cozy in this cold weather, turn on this movie (for probably the upteenth time) and get lost in the imaginative nature of the film. Not too lost, though, since “it’s all just a bunch of hocus pocus” after all.
Aries- “Scary Movie.” Charismatic and witty, this movie mirrors your delight in poking fun at the conventional way of life. Rather than being scared of a horror movie, you, Aries, like to laugh at the ridiculous nature of the tropes. Grab some popcorn, turn on this mockumentary of the horror genre and laugh your way through Hallo-week.
Taurus- “Friday the 13th.” With loyalty and love as the motive in this slasher flick, it hits on Tauruses’ deep commitment to the people they care about. While Jason takes this allegiance way beyond the average threshold, you can’t deny you’d do most things within reason for your loved ones. This 80s classic is full of gore and jump scares, so maybe don’t hold the popcorn when you watch it this Hallo-week.
Gemini- “Rocky Horror Picture Show.” Unpredictable from the very start, adapting over time to garner a cult following and an overall “strange journey,” no other movie could possibly match the endearingly chaotic vibes of a Gemini. Whether you’re going to see it live or just watching this 70s classic at home, you know you’re going to sing along to every stellar performance.
Cancer- “Halloweentown.” As you, dear Cancer, are known for your amazing intuition, it only makes sense that you relate to this movie, wherein Marnie knows from the beginning she has power greater than she’s been led to know. Cuddle into a good blanket, grab a warm drink and enjoy the nostalgia of this masterpiece of the Disney Channel’s glory days.
Leo- “Scream.” When you think of classic slasher movies, you can’t not think of “Scream”—just like you, dear Leo, stay at the forefront of our minds year-round. Your energy is perfectly exemplified by this dynamic film’s ability to capture the audience’s attention to the very end, keeping us all guessing and invested, right where you want us.
Virgo- “Coraline.” Seemingly unassuming with an underlying intensity, this movie is Virgo to a tee. It starts off simple enough, but the longer it goes on, the deeper the story gets—just like Virgos let down their guards and reveal their true selves over time. Try not to get too freaked out by this “children’s” movie, but remember: “being brave didn’t mean you weren’t scared.”
Libra- “Casper.” Extroverted and friendly, Casper is a Libra through and through—what other sign could overcome a boundary like the afterlife to successfully make a friend? Your energy transcends space and time, and you never fail to find a connection in the most unlikely of places. In the words of Casper, “all [you] want is a friend.”
Scorpio- “Practical Magic.” Witchy, dark, intense—am I talking about “Practical Magic” or you, Scorpio? I say both. In terms of aesthetic and subject matter, this movie hits on the mysterious parts of your personality. (Also—happy Scorpio season! Now we all get to relish in your intense and powerful, yet always charming, vibes.)
Sagittarius- “The Little Vampire.” Self-assured and idealistic, you, dear Sagittarius, relate perfectly to Tony’s staunch belief in himself and refusal to let others’ ridicule make him question his beliefs. Intuition and bravery are a staple in this movie, just like in your life. Grab some snacks and let loose a little, enjoying this warm-hearted flick.
Capricorn- “The Haunted Mansion.” You, dear Capricorn, relate a little too well to workaholic Jim Evers at the beginning of the movie. However, as the movie progresses, Evers’ development to a more invested member of his family is a perfect example of how to find balance in your ambition. Settle in for this Disney classic and let yourself laugh along; you deserve a break.
