Welcome back, Blue Jays! Since we’ve last spoken, we’ve entered into a new year (and Mercury’s made it out of retrograde), giving us an amazing opportunity to set goals and start fresh this new lap around the sun. So, will you be a new you in this new year? Or is your sign shooting for smaller changes? Use your sun, moon and rising signs for the most well-rounded reading!
Aquarius- Express yourself. Whether it’s writing, drawing or even just speaking, self-expression is your goal for this semester. Start with a journal and write down how you feel, then see if any other creative outlets call your name. Channeling your emotions into some kind of project will help you work through and manage them this semester.
Pisces- Build mental strength. With your sensitive disposition, you may find yourself giving into negative self-talk, being overly critical of yourself. This semester, push yourself to build mental toughness, pushing away the temptation to let self-critical thoughts take root. Positive affirmations can go a long way.
Aries- Practice mindfulness. This semester, instead of letting your mind race and build on anxieties, pencil in some time in your schedule to meditate, journal and bring some inner peace into your life. Starting now before the semester gets too hectic will set you up for success when things get more stressful.
Taurus- Set boundaries. With your loyalty and dedication to nearly every aspect of your life, saying “no” can make you feel like you’re letting people—especially yourself—down. But this is so far from the truth, and setting boundaries is integral to creating a more relaxed environment for yourself.
Gemini- Be decisive. Ever the mutable sign, you live in a constant back-and-forth in your own mind. This semester, make a concerted effort to exercise more decision in your life, leaving the forever ‘what if’s in 2022. Commitment and change are in the cards for you this year, but only if you choose them.
Cancer- Indulge in exploration. The travel bug may be latching onto you this semester, but you should remember that it doesn’t require you to go far; immerse yourself in nature with a nearby hike, dive into a new interest or maybe just take some time to reflect and look deep within yourself. Find the novelty in the life you already lead.
Leo- Set your own expectations. Being the center of attention is nothing new for you, but neither is the weight of others’ expectations on you. This semester, take a step back and remember whose opinion of you truly matters—yours. Stop worrying so much about how others view you, and refocus on working to impress yourself.
Virgo- Embrace imperfection. Your go-getter attitude and analytical mindset leaves little room for error in your life—especially within yourself. This semester, give yourself some forgiveness and remember that our imperfections are what make us special—and accepting your own faults will make you more understanding of others’.
Libra- Challenge your idea of your comfort zone. Sociable and extroverted, your comfort zone is far different than those of your peers, as you find yourself at ease in busy and group settings. This semester, push yourself to also spend some time alone, finding comfort in your own company.
Scorpio- Prioritize your feelings. Though you love being the dark and mysterious sign, now is the time to be honest with yourself about your emotions and take them seriously. Stop talking yourself out of feeling things and let your desires be known—only then will you be able to actualize what you really want.
Sagittarius- Learn to compromise. Free-spirited and spontaneous, you like to live life on your own terms, making quick decisions to satisfy your craving for freedom. This semester, consider those around you before you make these choices, granting room for conversation and compromise in your friendships and relationships.
Capricorn- Recognize your achievements. You work hard all day every day, but if you never take the time to stop and congratulate yourself, you’ll find yourself walking the line of burning out. This semester, take that time—even if it’s just a moment—to congratulate yourself and recognize that your work is paying off.
