Horoscopes: What self-care should you indulge in this week?

With winter sticking around for at least three more weeks, per Punxsutawney Phil, it may start to feel like the year is dragging along—even with last week’s bout of warm weather. This week, to build on some of the good energy RecWell stirred up with their Shake the Winter Blues Week, we’re looking at the best self-care activities for your sign. Use your sun, moon and rising signs for the most well-rounded reading!

Aquarius- Take a social media break. Innovative and unique, you, dear Aquarius, may find yourself feeling uber-connected to the online world, always working to stay one step ahead of trends and movements. Your self care is taking a step away, refocusing on living in your own authentic moment rather than the ones we create for others to see.

Pisces- Indulge your emotions. A naturally sensitive sign, dear Pisces, you feel everything very deeply. However, you may feel that you have to subdue these emotions to feel more “stable” or “casual.” But holding in these emotions will do nothing but make you pent up; your self care is expressing your emotions, whether it’s letting the laughter fill the air or the tears fall.

Aries- Grind out a workout session. A fire sign through and through, you, dear Aries, burn bright and fast. This makes your personality interesting and daring, but it can also build a lot of tension within yourself. Your self care is to do a hard workout session, channeling your excess energy and aggression into the gym. Sweat out the stress, feel strong in your body and ease your mind.

Taurus- Go to bed early. Loyal and dedicated, you, dear Taurus, are always busy with friends, work or other commitments. Not that you’re complaining—you love to be the person on whom others depend. But still, it can be a lot. Your self care is to slow down and prioritize yourself, specifically your rest. Go to bed a bit earlier tonight and see how refreshed you’ll be tomorrow.

Gemini- Get lost in a book. Talkative and expressive, you, dear Gemini, are no stranger to exhausting yourself in social settings, working to connect with as many people as possible. Your self care is to find a stimulating book; it will feed your need for information, all without the need to overexert yourself. You may even find that you finish a whole story in one sitting.

Cancer- Take a bath at home. As a water sign, dear Cancer, being in your element will surround you with comforting, healing energy. And ever the family-oriented sign, you never fail to feel refreshed after a trip back home. Your self care is to prepare for your trip home for spring break and plan a time to take a long, hot bath—it’ll do double duty to refresh your mind and body.

Leo- Create art. Fiery Leo, you are no stranger to passion and creativity. However, if you never take the time to let these parts of yourself come to the front, you run the risk of stifling yourself. Your self care is to express yourself in some artistic fashion. Be it painting, drawing, writing, singing or dancing, releasing your tensions for something beautiful will make all the difference.

Virgo- Journal your thoughts. Analytical Virgo, your talent for logical thinking sometimes comes at the cost of severe overthinking. Your self care is to take those thoughts and write them down in a journal; seeing them mapped out on paper may help you organize and prioritize, halting the racing of your mind, putting it a bit more at ease.

Libra- Practice a yoga flow. The sign of balance, you, dear Libra, will feel most at ease when your body and mind are in alignment. Without a sense of equilibrium, physical or mental, you may feel a bit out of whack. Your self care is to get yourself back in tune by going through a yoga flow, focusing on the fluidity of your movements and the calmness of your mind.

Scorpio- Follow a guided meditation. Mystical Scorpio, even in your quest to take care of yourself, you still have the underlying urge to do so in a deeply intimate and intense way—a self care activity that doesn’t involve getting to the root of your thoughts just won’t cut it. Your self care is following a guided meditation, digging deep to learn more about yourself at your core.

Sagittarius- Go for a hike. A naturally adventurous sign, you, dear Sagittarius, may start to feel suffocated from being holed up in your dorm or the library. You crave newness, independence and the feeling of being free. Your self care is to get out in nature, breathe in the freshness and take a walk on a new trail. You’ll be surprised how refreshed you feel afterward.

Capricorn- Have a do-nothing day. Ambitious Capricorn, you tend to put a lot of pressure on yourself. While this makes you see much success in your life, it also means that you have trouble allowing yourself to step away. Your self care is having a day where you do absolutely nothing—no schedule, no tasks, no pressure. Take a moment to relax and relieve some stress.
