Music is at the heart of culture, especially at Elizabethtown College with its various vocal groups and bands. Students often have certain genres of music they listen to, but who doesn’t like expanding their taste? Let’s see what musical artist you should check out based on your zodiac sign.
Leo (July 23 – Aug. 22): Leos need an artist to listen to that embodies their bold and dramatic personality. TROY, a New Jersey native, has been making a name for himself with his Zodiac sign singles and his role as Hermes in ‘EPIC: The Musical.’ TROY’s lively and upbeat music matches the vibe that Leo likes.
Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22): Virgos have an ear for music that others don’t, preferring thoughtful lyrics over a catchy beat. Aidoneus is a small artist with eight songs released currently, which all have an ethereal sound to them. The stories told through Aidoneus’s music can easily captivate the detail-oriented Virgos.
Libra (Sept. 23 – Oct. 22): Libras like to love, and they love music that talks about it. Steven Rodriguez is an American R&B and soul artist whose music explores themes of heartbreak, love and self-discovery. The sensuous and provocative nature of Rodriguez’s music is quick to catch a Libra’s attention.
Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21): Scorpios are intense, whether it be emotionally, in their relationships or in their music taste. Vana is a New Zealand-based metal-pop mix artist with songs centered around femme-fatale ideals. Vana’s strong vocals and powerful messaging is an immediate yes for Scorpios.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21): Sagittarius’s love for exploration does not end with travel, they like to listen to music outside of their home country. Lubiana is a Belgian Cameroonian artist whose soulful jazz music focuses on the social conditions of her country. Lubiana sings in both French and English, making her an ideal singer for a curious Sagittarius.
Capricorn (Dec. 21 – Jan. 20): Capricorns tend to be on the prim and proper side, not being too extreme, and the same goes for their music. The Oh Hellos, an American indie folk duo, specializes in introspective songs which tell stories. The soft melodies and intense lyrical prowess of The Oh Hellos is irresistible to a Capricorn who likes calm with a little intensity.
Aquarius (Jan. 21 – Feb. 18): Aquarius likes the eccentric and unique aspects of music, preferring fewer mainstream artists. Ariel Pink is an American artist whose music has lo-fi influences, and he’s seen as the grandfather of hypnagogic pop. Pink’s experimental sound has a quality that all Aquarius’s can enjoy.
Pisces (Feb. 19 – March 20): Pisces have a strong sense of faith, whether it be religious or in themselves and others. Reverend Kristin Michael Hayter, formerly known as Lingua Ignota, mixes religious themes and her own past trauma into what she calls survivor anthems. The emotional lyrics and messaging can be very affirming for many Pisces.
Aries (March 21 – April 19): Aries need a certain type of music to help them keep their blood pumping. Powerwolf is a German band whose music mixes religious themes and heavy metal. The intensity and unbridled rage in Powerwolf’s songs can make any Aries ready to get up and run a marathon.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20): Taurus likes music that they can listen to when relaxing, something calm. The American artist egg has gotten popular over their cover songs, but they have released their own music as well. The indie vibe and gentle tone of egg’s music makes it a good listen for any Taurus.
Gemini (May 21 – June 20): Gemini likes upbeat music to keep them in high spirits for their activities. Mickey Darling is an American indie and bedroom pop duo whose music has catchy beats with relatable lyrics. For any Gemini that wants to jam out to a pop sound with current ideals, check out Mickey darling.
Cancer (June 21 – July 22): Cancers listen to music that makes them feel something, whether that be positive or negative. Kiki Rockwell is an American folk and rock artist who tells well-known myths and tales in her music. Rockwell’s intimate sound and storytelling lyrics are sure to enchant any Cancer.
