Horoscopes: Squinkies

Horoscopes: Squinkies

Children of the late 2000s should easily recognize this fad toy that dropped in 2010, Squinkies. Squinkies, produced by Blip Toys, are small rubber figures that come in plastic balls. These plastic balls give a sense of mystery, since they obscure some of the Squinkies in each package. Unfortunately, Squinkies had its moment of fame and halted production in 2011. Squinkies did try to make a comeback in 2016, but it was unsuccessful. So, to honor a childhood toy line, let’s see what Squinkie your zodiac sign would be!

Aries (March 21-April 19): You get the brown deer from collection 10. Like a deer, you are headstrong and confident, willing to use your fiery temper to get your way. This isn’t a bad thing, because like the deer, you can use your temper to protect your loved ones.

Taurus (April 20 –May 20): You, my friend, get the yellow squirrel from collection 12. What you and the squirrel share are the values of homeliness as well as an occasional habit of being stubborn. That stubbornness is far from a downfall if used right though, as it can help you achieve goals that others would have given up on earlier.

Gemini (May 21 –June 20): For your duality, Gemini, I give you Hollywood star Barbie from Barbie pack four. The idol has their persona that the world sees, and then the real them that’s seen in private. It is okay to show both sides of yourself though, since the world deserves to know the whole of you.

Cancer (June 21 –July 22): Dear Cancer, you get the blue teddy bear from collection 10. The blue represents your water aspect, and the teddy bear shows your loveable and soft personality. Like the teddy bear, you are cherished by those around you, and you give that affection right back.

Leo (July 23 –Aug. 22): For the striking Leos, you get the pink monkey from Squinkies Doos. This type of Squinkie comes with combable hair, akin to the classic troll dolls with hair. This particular Squinkie shows your bold and radical self-expression via the hair, and the monkey represents your playful nature.

Virgo (Aug. 23 –Sept. 22): For Virgos, you get the young girl with brown hair from collection 10. This Squinkie distinctly represents the symbol of Virgos, the virgin or maiden. I know that not all Virgos are women, but the girl is also to represent Virgo’s innocence, kindness and helpfulness.

Libra (Sept. 23 –Oct. 22): For the ever-hopeful Libra, you get the bride in the Bride to Be set. You can often be a hopeless romantic, fantasizing an ideal even if it is not true. However, romanticizing is not always a downside, since it leads you to have high standards and not settle for less than deserved.

Scorpio (Oct. 23 –Nov. 21): Scorpios get the mermaid with purple hair from collection 12. The mermaid has two characteristics in common with Scorpios; they have an alluring presence and are water-oriented individuals. Scorpios have a natural ability to attract what they desire, and they use it.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 –Dec. 21): The fiery Sagittarius gets the purple dolphin from collection 12. Despite being a water creature, the dolphin has the same infectious positivity and enthusiasm that many Sagittarius naturally have. Don’t be fooled though, dolphins, like Sagittarius, also have a deeper side to them that can come off strong.

Capricorn (Dec. 22 –Jan. 19): Capricorns get the brown dog from the Puppy Carrier Surprise set. Capricorns and dogs both love their family immensely, as well as adhere to structure and rules well. Dogs are also very loyal companions, something that Capricorn strives to be in their relationships.

Aquarius (Jan. 20 –Feb. 18): For Aquarius, you get the blue octopus from collection 12. Although Aquarius is an air sign, both Aquarius and octopuses value their unique personality and are always going with the flow.

Pisces (Feb. 19 –March 20): My fellow Pisces, I give you the orange fish from the Gumball Surprise Playhouse set. This should be an obvious choice, since our symbol is two fish. Like the fish, we are always testing the waters of our environment and trying to swim to better horizons.
