Horoscopes: Fall Elements

The colors of the leaves turn, the sky becomes gray and the wind picks up a bitter chill. These signs of fall are starting to find their way into Elizabethtown College, and it’s only going to get more autumnal in the following months. So, to honor the essence of fall, let’s see what fall element your zodiac sign is.

Gemini (May 21 –June 20): Gemini, like their air element, tend to flow through life in phases. As such, the seasonal fashion choice of a sweater seems to fit them quite well. The sweater offers protection from the outside world, enabling Gemini to shield whatever part of them feels particularly vulnerable.

Libra (Sept. 23 –Oct. 22): Libras are the social butterflies of the zodiacs, especially in the domain of romance. This desirability and positive appraisal from those around them align well with the popular fall drink, pumpkin spice latte. However, pumpkin spice and Libra can often be called overrated and basic due to the sheer amount of attention they garner.

Aquarius (Jan. 20 –Feb. 18): Aquarius are stable and tenacious individuals. Due to that stable energy, Aquarius is hot tea. Aquarius, like tea, is a complex mix of traits that ultimately collide to form a favorable person.

Taurus (April 20 –May 20): The earth signs need something that comes from the ground, and that would be pumpkins. Pumpkins are a staple to have, from being carved into a jack-o-lantern to being baked into crumbly pie. Taurus are like pumpkins in the way that they’re a constant presence.

Virgo (Aug. 23 –Sept. 22): Virgos strive to improve themselves and the immediate environment around them. Similarly, apples do too by being a healthy fruit to boost your system. There is that old proverb “an apple a day keeps the doctor away.” Virgos would prefer to do just that so they can keep working to serve the world around them.

Capricorn (Dec. 22 –Jan. 19): Capricorns are practical and realistic individuals, so they would gravitate to something that assists them in getting stuff done: coffee. Capricorns and coffee have many things in common, like productivity, energy and perseverance. Capricorns are also akin to coffee in that they can come off as bitter at times.

Aries (March 21 –April 19): The bold Aries needs an equally satisfying fall element, such as apple cider. Cider has a strong flavor; it doesn’t allow itself to be watered down. Aries are the same, keeping their headstrong personality even in times when it would be best to listen.

Leo (July 23 –Aug. 22): The fall festival is a small-town staple that can draw in huge crowds. Naturally, Leos get the fair. After all, both like to make a production and show off their skills. Not only do Leos love being seen, but fairs are also great places to be social and make connections in the community.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 –Dec. 21): Sagittarius have a certain wanderlust about them, preferring to stay outside and explore the scenes around them. Leaves are similar in that adventurous spirit, traveling wherever the wind takes them. Sagittarius also acknowledge the deeper themes of life, such as life and death, which leaves go through on a yearly basis.

Cancer (June 21 –July 22): Cancers have a wide range of emotions they fluctuate through daily. That variability and sheer abundance matches with the nuts that are found all over during fall. Nuts and Cancers are also both good at nurturing, ensuring that their loved ones are prepared for the cold months ahead.

Scorpio (Oct. 23 –Nov. 21): Scorpios can have a bit of an intimidating energy about them, and that perfectly matches the scarecrow. The scarecrow and Scorpios both know when it’s time to stand up for themselves and protect what they care for. Like the scarecrow though, Scorpios are only putting up a front; they’re genuinely sensitive individuals deep down.

Pisces (Feb. 19 –March 20): Pisces are people of emotional intelligence, sensing the environments around them. Pisces change, just like how palates do in fall to prefer warm food like soup. Soup and Pisces both strive to offer warmth and love to those they encounter.
