Game Review: Making music with “Incredibox”

Game Review: Making music with “Incredibox”

“Incredibox” was created in 2009 by a trio who runs So Far So Good, a gaming company based in France. It is an extremely unique game with no set goals, only your imagination. The premise is to combine different sounds and voices to create a beat that you like. When you first open the screen, you are greeted with a choice between one man dressed in eight different outfits. Each of the characters have different vibes and feature sounds that are similar to the overall ambience. My personal favorite is Sunrise, but I enjoy playing around with all of them. You will be happy to know that you can record the sounds that you make, as well as have certain characters solo, and/or mute some of them. You can also record your mixes, but you can’t access previous recordings without the full version. The full version also offers the ability to post your mixes to the public, as well as listen to others’ renditions of the sound medleys. The free, web version, features four of the eight people. If you want to purchase the full version, it is $4.99 on both PC and mobile. Even though this game came out a little over a decade ago, it has well-maintained the test of time.
