Recently, there has been buzz around campus debating what’s better: Jay’s Nest or the Marketplace’s sweet treats? Students have been arguing over this for a while now, and it’s time to talk about it! Though most students claim that they are equally as amazing, let’s see if we can weigh out the options here.
The Marketplace has a rotation of choices that change every day. Students can look ahead on the weekly menu to prepare for the variety of sweets before they even enter the dining hall. Many students love this option because it does not require spending additional money or Jaybucks. On the other hand, some students with more limited meal swipes might not be eager to make that sacrifice.
“I love the strawberry lemonade cookies they have in the marketplace,” second-year Ava Gates argued. “I can’t get those in Jay’s Nest.”
Well that’s a pretty solid case for the Marketplace if I do say so myself. Let’s see what others have to say to defend our beloved Jay’s Nest.
“Jay’s also has a variety of super tasty treats! It’s the only place where I can consistently get gluten free brownies!” claims second-year Brooklyn Torquato.
Another pro of Jay’s Nest is that it is open much later, which is extremely convenient. This may not affect the early birds who go to bed sooner than the rest, but for those of us Jays that stay up late and crave a sweet treat at night, it sure is nice!
Along with that, sometimes it has a larger variety of items that the Marketplace doesn’t have. This includes a variety of ice cream flavors, gluten free baked goods and my personal favorite, chocolate chip banana bread! It seems like Jay’s Nest really can bring the heat.
As you can see, both the Marketplace and Jay’s Nest have amazing sweet treats, which makes it so hard for students to make a decision of which one is better. Though the dining hall doesn’t use Jaybucks, it does require a meal swipe, which sometimes is just as valuable.
Personally, I would not use one of my last meal swipes when I could use Jaybucks. On the other hand, sometimes I don’t want to use Jaybucks when I could get something similar upstairs in the Marketplace. I cannot decide which one is better because both are amazing in their own ways. With all the information given, it looks like this debate will be left unfinished for now. What do you think, Jays?
