E-Motion Dance Club is the ideal opportunity to experience new things, make new friends and get involved in the environment. E-Motion is one of the several clubs available at Elizabethtown College. Its goals are to forge personal connections, make memories and foster a sense of belonging.
E-Motion continues to implement its goal of fostering meaningful relationships between students and our campus’s all-inclusive dance club. Senior psychology major and E-Motion Vice President Chloe Vanwagner stated, “Our mission is to provide an environment where dancers of all levels can have fun and dance! We offer a variety of dance styles and dance levels each semester. We always emphasize that you could have years of dance experience or none at all, either way, we urge you to join! Ultimately, our goal is to provide a space where everyone feels respected and has a sense of relaxation!”
E-Motion is looking forward to creating new connections with the students and offering them access to the club’s creative space this semester. Vanwagner stated, “One of our goals for this semester is to bring the community together to allow for a safe atmosphere for all dancers to have fun and build lasting memories.”
As one of Etown’s biggest clubs, E-Motion focuses on providing dancing to express oneself. The semester showcase, where the club displays the dance routines they have been developing and perfecting, is one of their most significant events. All skill levels have a place since they are offered inclusive dance routines.
This spring’s showcase is the weekend of Dec. 2-3 at 7 p.m. in Leffler Chapel. Ticket sales will take place the week of the showcase in the Baugher Student Center (BSC). Feel free to stop over and attend the showcase and support your fellow Jays. As for the rest of the spring semester E-Motion has the following events: Shout Out Sales, in which you can type a small shoutout to a dancer to be put in the showcase program, on Oct. 26-28 from 4-7 p.m. in the BSC and club bonding night with “Just Dance” in the Jay Lounge on Nov. 11 from 5-8 p.m. There will be more performance events in the spring at One Elle of a Night, Mad Acapella and more.
Students from Etown serve as the club officers. They include: President Piper Wright, Vice President Vanwagner, Office Manager Allison Amsbaugh, Treasurer Ingrid Peura, Fundraisers Hayley Biesiadecki and Katrina Gambone, Customer Communications Claire Cuvo, Club Representative Kat Pasko and Historian Sylver Reynolds. All officers are open to discussing prospective membership in E-Motion and will promote the group over the coming weeks.
