For this week’s business review, I decided to review a local Elizabethtown restaurant, E-Yuan. E-Yuan is a small Chinese restaurant located directly on South Market Street at 39 S Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA which is within walking distance from the Etown campus. They pride themselves on their comfortable atmosphere and variety of food options.
Inside the restaurant there are a small number of tables to choose from, and the atmosphere has a relaxed feel with a lot of traditional Chinese decorations. When looking at their menu, there are a wide range of foods that even include vegetarian options. E-Yuan is priced on the lower to average end of the spectrum, and they give more than enough for what you pay for. The meal options here range from around $10 to around $14 for the dinner portions and around $9 for the lunch portions. They also have all-day servings of small or large portions that range in price as well.
This past weekend my friends and I went to visit E-Yuan. I ordered the sesame chicken, which was delicious, and it came with fried rice. My friends ordered lo mien and General Tso’s chicken which we shared among each other to sample a bit of different items from the menu. Each of the items that were ordered were large portions and had excellent flavor profiles. The General Tso’s chicken was not extremely spicy, so it was still enjoyable to eat for those that didn’t have much experience with spicy food. Also, because of the large order, the owner gave us a full appetizer of six crab rangoons for free.
In the past when ordering from E-Yuan, I have also received free appetizer items when placing a larger order, so it is safe to say that this restaurant is very generous with their food. Over the past couple of times that I have gone here, there have always been leftovers from what I ordered along with what my friends ordered, so there is enough for two meals in the dinner portion. You can also get portions of just the main meal and get the rice and lo mien as sides, all of which give you at least two servings. They also have the classic Chinese doughnuts that are served in portions of 10 for a shareable dessert.
You can look at E-Yuan’s menu and ordering information on their website: https://www.restaurantji.com/pa/elizabethtown/e-yuan-/.
They are open Tuesday-Thursday from 11:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11:00 a.m.-10:30 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.
Unfortunately, they do not have an Etown student discount, but with the reasonable prices and large portions, it is definitely worth going to E-Yuan for some delicious Chinese food. E-Yuan is also on DoorDash, so if you do not have a vehicle to get to the restaurant or do not feel comfortable walking, you can look through the menu through the app and place an order for delivery.
